Europeans for al-Quds: 88 injuries, 188 detainees in Jerusalem in July

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) continued their violations in the city of Jerusalem and tried to threaten the Palestinian Arab presence in the city through unjust Judaizing measures.

Europeans for al-Quds documented in its report that the IOF have committed 864 violations that fall within 16 types of human rights violations in Jerusalem during last July. Most of these violations were complex. Arrests came at the forefront of these violations with a rate of 21.8%, followed by incusions with 20.8%.

The IOF continued to threaten the Palestinian presence in the city of Jerusalem by proceeding with the settlement procedures for the lands, as it was revealed that 40 houses inhabited by 45 Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood were registered in the names of settlement associations, without the knowledge of their owners.

The occupation authorities also canceled the licenses of 6 schools in Jerusalem, under the pretext of “incitement in textbooks against the Israeli occupation.”

During July, the IOF carried out 48 shootings and direct attacks in the neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem. As a result, 88 civilians were wounded, with bullets and tear gas canisters. In addition, more than 150 others were exposure to direct beatings and abuse in Silwan and Al-Issawiya village.

The report said that 180 raids into towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem were carried out, during which 188 Palestinians were arrested, including children and women, 22 others were summoned, and house arrest was imposed on at least 21.

The report also monitored 16 demolitions and the distribution of notices, which resulted in the destruction of 6 housing units, which led to the destruction of a residential building in Jabal Mukaber, a nursery in Al-Isawiya, the demolition of a wall and a car wash in Al-Nabi Samwil, a wall and facilities worth one million shekels in Anata, the leveling of lands in Al-Nabi Samwil, and the leveling of agricultural land in the town of Issawiya, and the registration of lands and buildings in Sheikh Jarrah in the names of settlers without the knowledge of there residents. The IOF delivered about 94 demolition orders and notifications, under the pretext of not having a license.

THE occupation seeks to impose a demographic change in the city of Jerusalem, and that it employs all its governmental, political and security arms for this purpose. On the other hand, it gives the settlers and their settlement associations a free hand to control the largest possible number of properties in the city.

During July, the IOF continued to perpetuate the settlement and Judaization of 10 decisions, including the establishment of a sports center in Beit Hanina, a joint US-Israeli plan for the embassy in Jerusalem on private Palestinian property, promotion of the establishment of 2,000 new settlement units, and the construction of a visitors center in the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood, and a tender for the construction of 83 housing units, in the settlement of “Givat Hamatos”, excavations in Al-Buraq Square to put an elevator near the Al-Buraq Wall, and plans to expand the Dung Gate from which incursions usually take place into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, building 1,446 new settlement units in a settlement.

The Israeli authorities issued 15 decisions to remove Palestinians from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, while the settlers continued to carry out attacks against the Jerusalemites. During this month, Europeans for al-Quds documented 13 attacks carried out by settlers, in addition to 18 incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque

During the month, 3,265 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque over 18 days in two periods in each day.
