Europeans for al-Quds Organization confirmed that the IOF, as usual, sought to transform the occasion of Jewish holidays into opportunities to realize its ambitions and impose its hegemony and a fait accompli in Jerusalem. This was represented in the increase of the of the settlers’ storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the occupation police, performing provocative dances and uttering Biblical slogans and songs inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, lighting the walls of Jerusalem with biblical drawings and wearing priestly clothes and performing Talmudic rituals.
The Organization documented in its report that the IOF have committed 907 violations that fall within 16 types of human rights violations in Jerusalem during last September.
During August, the IOF carried out 66 shootings and direct attacks in the neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem. As a result, 44 civilians were wounded, with bullets and tear gas canisters. In addition, more than 33 others were exposure to direct beatings and abuse.
The report said that 276 raids into towns and neighborhoods of Jerusalem were carried out, during which 165 Palestinians were arrested, including children and women, 19 others were summoned, and house arrest was imposed on at least 17.
The report also monitored 24 demolitions and the distribution of notices, which resulted in the destruction of 8 housing units or parts of them, the destruction of 11 facilities, and carrying out dozens of bulldozing operations.
The Israeli occupation’s Planning and Building Committee in Occupied Jerusalem is considering the approval of two settlement plans in the city comprising a total of 3,412 housing units over the next week, today said the PLO’s Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission.
Muayyad Shaaban, the Head of the Commission, said in a press statement that the two plans, which bear the numbers (TPS YOSH 420-4-7) and (TPS YOSH 420-4-10), will see the construction of more than 3,412 new settlement housing units, which will be built on an area estimated at 2,100 dunums in the eastern outskirts of the occupied capital.
During the month, 4821 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque over 23 days in two periods in each day.
The Israeli authorities issued 41 decisions to remove Palestinians from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the neighborhoods of Jerusalem, while the settlers continued to carry out attacks against the Jerusalemites.
During September, the Israeli forces placed 86 permanent and flying checkpoints, closed 9 streets, issued 3 travel ban decisions against Palestinians, carried out 6 attacks on freedoms and journalists.
Europeans for al-Quds Organization warned that these four practices seek to perpetuate dealing with Al-Aqsa Mosque after it is an existing temple, by reviving all the peculiarities of the temple that have been destroyed by its collapse according to the religious narrative, a danger that transcends the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa by jumping into the conflict over the nature and identity of Al-Aqsa.
