Europeans for al-Quds: 685 Israeli violations in Jerusalem during April

European for al-Quds organization documented 685 violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the city of Jerusalem during the last month of April, categorized into (16) types of human rights violations. The majority of these violations are complex, with the foremost being incursions and raids, accounting for 55.9%, followed by arrests, accounting for 16.1%.

In its monthly report monitoring violations in Jerusalem, the organization monitored (47) shooting incidents and direct attacks by the Israeli occupation forces in the neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem. The incident resulted in the killing of Turkish tourist Hassan Scalanan after he carried out a stabbing attack, along with the wounding of four others and dozens suffering from suffocation. In separate incidents, at least 29 citizens were exposed to beatings and abuse.

The report states that the IOF carried out 383 raids on Palestinian towns and neighborhoods in Jerusalem, arresting 110 Palestinians, including 12 children and 9 women. In addition, 7 were placed under house arrest.

The report also documented 3 demolitions during which the occupying forces destroyed 3 housing units and demolition notices were also distributed.

During this month, the authorities issued 4 decisions and measures aimed at consolidating the Judaization of settlements and in occupied Jerusalem. Most notably, these included the transfer of land enforcement authority to the Ministry of National Security to expedite demolition orders, the eviction of 3 families from their homes for the benefit of settlers, and the inclusion of an official plan to change the status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

5,734 settlers, and hundreds posing as tourists, participated in storming Al-Aqsa Mosque over a 13-day period, indicating an increase in the number of intruders despite the cessation of such activities in the last ten days of Ramadan and during Eid al-Fitr. The report noted that 4,345 settlers participated in the storming during the Hebrew Passover holiday, marking a significant increase compared to previous years.

The report also documented that Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Aqsa Mosque at least twice and carried out 17 other attacks, both by military personnel and settlers.

Israeli occupation authorities continued their policy of deporting individuals from Al-Aqsa Mosque or Jerusalem, with 3 deportation orders documented against Jerusalemites.

The report recorded 4 attacks carried out by settlers, including assaults on citizens and their property, as well as acts of incitement.

The report monitored 57 fixed and surprise checkpoints, 4 violations related to freedom of journalistic work and public liberties, and two instances of collective punishment.

Europeans for al-Quds reiterated their warning about the seriousness of violations in Jerusalem and the expansion of powers for extremist Minister Ben Gvir, especially concerning attempts to impose new conditions in Al-Aqsa Mosque. They highlighted the increasing suffering of Jerusalemites alongside continued Judaization policies, calling on the international community, particularly European Union countries, to take decisive action to end Israeli violations.
